Are you interested in becoming a Forest School Assistant or Leader?

Our next training course starts in Huddersfield on Friday 28th April and will run for 5 consecutive Fridays, ending just before Spring Bank on Friday 26th May.

The dates and times are 9am to 5pm on:

  1. Friday 28th April 2017
  2. Friday 5th May 2017
  3. Friday 12th May 2017
  4. Friday 19th May 2017
  5. Friday 26th May 2017

The course includes a mixture of theory (Forest School theory, Learning theories, behaviour, site management, risk management) and practical skills (fire lighting, cooking, tool use, knots), with about half the time spent outside on local Forest School sites. At the end of the 5 days you will need to either:

Level 2 (Forest School Assistant)
Spend up to 3 months gaining further Forest School experience, and continuing your learning in order to complete a portfolio of work and evidence to gain your Level 2 qualification.  This is the equivalent of a GCSE.

Cost: £450pp

Level 3 (Forest School Leader)
Spend up to a year gaining further experience, continuing your learning, and completing a portfolio of work and evidence. This includes coming back for a further 2 days Forest School First Aid training (to gain a recognised ITC 16-hr qualification), and a further 5 days training and assessment in order to gain your Level 3 qualification.  This is the equivalent of an A Level.

Cost: £875pp

The course is delivered by experienced Level 4 Forest School Practitioner and trainer, Jo Liversidge, and her team, under licence from Forest Schools Education Ltd, and is accredited by the Open Awards (on the Qualifications and Credit Framework).
