Nature's Footprints Family Forest at Beaumont ParkOur first Family Forest session after the Summer break was on Saturday 7th September, and as usual was fun, and challenging, with lots of new faces (who’d been to some of our Summer Holiday sessions or had heard about us through word of mouth).  As well as the usual games (and ever-popular den building), I challenged the kids to create obstacle courses from whatever materials they could find (including our usual kit) and then take it in turns to run their activities for the rest of the group.  As ever, the grown-ups were even more competitive than the children!  Congratulations to Chris and Molly for being the fastest grown-up and child on the cargo net challenge, well done to the team who created it, and to everyone for giving it a go!

What’s always great to see is how much our children mix and work together (We had 15 children from 11 families, aged between 2 and 12 and everyone joined in and was included), and how important it is for kids and parents to relax and have fun together.  Thanks to everyone for pitching in and making it a relaxing, enjoyable session.

Family Forest takes place at Beaumont Park on the first Saturday of the month from 10am until we’ve all had enough (usually somewhere between 2 and 3pm!).  We meet at the Visitor Centre, but the sessions usually take place around the park or at our dedicated Forest School site.  Parents stay and join in with their children and we charge £5 per child.  Drinks and snacks are included and you can bring a packed lunch if you’re planning on staying for the whole session.  Booking is essential as numbers are limited.

The next Family Forest will be on Saturday 5th October.  To book a place or for further details call Jo on 07843 673011, jo@naturesfootprints.co.uk.
