Free Family Activities at Beaumont Park

As well as Beaumont Park’s Gala Day on Sunday 30th July, 12-4pm, we’ll be running a Summer Play Day with Friends of Beaumont Park on Wednesday 2nd August, 12-4pm.

There will be activities running throughout the park, including at the Forest School site near the Cemetery with activities for different age groups, including physical, play and creative activities, such as:

  • fun runSummer play day 2017 poster DRAFT
  • nature crafts
  • Forest School
  • wheeled fun
  • treasure trail
  • bug hunting
  • games
  • refreshments

We will be supported on the day by a team of 15-17 year olds from the National Citizens Service who will be fundraising for the event and running some activities for teenagers as part of their volunteering/social action project.

The day is part of National Play Day and during the day we hope to collect your thoughts on what sort of play you’d like to see in Kirklees. We will pass this information on to Kirklees Council to help them create their new Play Strategy.

You do not need to book via Eventbrite and you can just turn up on the day, but if you’d like to book to let us know that you’re definitely coming, we’ll have a better idea how many people to expect – book here

Final version Summer crafternoons 2017Family Crafternoons

£2.50 per person (pay on the day) for anyone who wants to try the crafts and activities (but also feel free to just come along and have a cuppa and a cake).  Again, you don’t have to book on Eventbrite and can just turn up on the day, but if you can, it will give us a better idea of how many people to expect, so that we can make sure we have enough of everything – book here
